That’s why I thought I’d put together this blog post detailing some of the potential fixes you can try at home or with a. TIP: If you’re in any doubt, or it’s not an easy fix such as low pressure or a frozen condensate, DO NOT try to fix the boiler yourself – always call a professional.

About Ariston boilers Ariston is a large global boiler manufacturer with a relatively good reputation, despite being at the more budget end of the market. Their TV advertising was popular in the early ’90s, and featured one of the most unique washing machine ads that still holds up today.

Being Italian made, a lot of the main problems Ariston boilers tend to have are due to the fact they are made with cheaper components, which can often lead to the passing and leaking of the boiler’s expansion vessels. Ariston boilers can be quite noisy, and need to be either replaced or recharged after around five years. Despite this, they have a very good help desk team to answer your calls, and the boilers themselves are a decent size, so easy to work on. Fault 1: Ariston Microgenus code A1 – no ignition This fault could be something as simple as there being no available gas (such as if the meter has been turned off).

If not, the ignition leads may be the problem, as this would cause the boiler not to light. The Fix: Replace the ignition leads. If the problem persists, the worst case scenario involves testing the gas valve with a volt meter to see if power is going to the gas valve but not igniting.

If this is the case, I’m afraid the boiler may need to be replaced. Fault 2: Ariston Microgenus code E2 – low pressure Low water pressure is a common fault for many boilers, but luckily it’s an easy enough fix – however, if the pressure continues to drop after topping up two or three times, call in an expert. The Fix: Top up the pressure at the boiler via the filling loop (usually located underneath the boiler) to 1.5 bar. For a more detailed guide, and a helpful video, check out our blog post.

Fault 3: Ariston Microgenus code E34 – air pressure switch Unfortunately, this boiler is prone to faults with the air pressure switch, and often these need to be replaced. The Fix: To find out for sure if this is what is causing the problem, take the hose off and blow through to see if the switch lifts and the boiler ignites. If so, you have yourself a faulty air pressure switch which needs replaced. Fault 4: Ariston Aco codes E04, E05 and E06 All of these codes have the same message when you refer to the manual; ‘Call an engineer’.

This usually happens when a manufacturer realises there could be 4 – 5 different things wrong here. These boilers were one of the first condensing combis to be released, and were unreliable. The Fix: Either call an Ariston engineer directly, or someone who has knowledge of working on them. Convert Spb Contacts To Pdf.
