I have an HP DC7700u pc with a 1.86ghz core 2 duo processor and 4 Gb Ram (32 Bit). My monitor is an Hp Monitor as well. When I first plugged in the monitor and turned on the computer, the display looked a little 'low quality' and the device manager showed 'generic pnp monior'. After a few days of using the computer and installing updates, the display suddenly looked really nice and the device manager showed the actual model number of the monitor. I tried updating the drivers and that didn't work. Looked on the Hp website as well as Microsoft site and both say the monitor is plug-n-play and no software is needed.
